Adventurers return to our beautiful marsh-mallow pink eco lodge, a welcoming sanctuary tucked into the folds of the Abermawr Valley, where a well-stocked bar and freshly home-cooked meals await. From the moment you arrive on Friday evening, you’ll be in the safe hands of our dedicated and friendly hospitality and adventure team who have lovingly curated every element of your adventure weekend so that you can relax and immerse yourself in your surroundings.
You can choose a 2-day or 3-day adventure itinerary, both arriving on Friday evening, in time for a delicious home-cooked meal and departing either after lunch on Sunday or after breakfast on Monday, feeling energised by your weekend in the Welsh wilderness.
Over the weekend, expect to find yourself amidst breath-taking scenery of the world-renowned Pembrokeshire Coast path on a gently meandering clifftop hike, the perfect trail to uncover the rich and diverse wildlife of the Celtic Coast…sea kayaking under awe-inspiring sea cliffs, through rock gardens, sea stacks, arches and majestic caves… scrambling, traversing and ledge-leaping into crystal clear plunge pools as you explore the coast by coasteering … and surfing clean, green peeling waves on blue-flag sandy beaches. With sustainability and respect for the ocean always in mind, our engaging guides are thrilled to pass on their local knowledge of flora, fauna and geology along the way.
We’ve put together the perfect weekend break for the chillier months when you might like to stay wrapped up on dry land and enjoy just one invigorating water adventure on Saturday (sea kayaking, coasteering or surfing) to stimulate the senses and blow away the cobwebs! Then after a warming lunch at our cosy eco lodge retreat, head out for some awe-inspiring walking on the incredible Pembrokeshire Coast. On Sunday we suggest a boat trip around RSPB Ramsey Island and a stroll around St Davids Cathedral or a walk to our two local beaches and then to the nearby Tregwynt Woollen Mill or a wonderful horse riding experience on the Preseli hills near Fishguard. Finish your weekend with a hearty lunch at the eco lodge.
You’ll stay in our unique 5 star graded eco lodge accommodation with single, double, twin and larger rooms perfect for small groups of friends..
From Friday evening to Sunday or Monday lunch, all your meals are provided in our restaurant by our in-house chef, using fresh ingredients, locally sourced or home-grown where possible. A full cooked Welsh breakfast will fuel you up for your morning adventure and a hot lunch will warm you up before the next one. In the evening, relax and unwind with a two-course evening meal and order a local brew or a “Merlyn’s Magic” hot chocolate at our reclaimed-timber bar. Our menu is deliciously varied and upbeat, with healthy, hearty meals catering for all special dietary requirements.
The beautifully furnished and spacious restaurant and lounge offers views down to the ancient woodland and across a rolling pastoral landscape. Our sheltered courtyard provides outdoor seating with spectacular views down to the ocean and the Penbwchdy headland. Dine al-fresco with Nature’s soundtrack of ravens, choughs and woodpeckers echoing through the valley. There’s plenty of green space outdoors for yoga, reading in the sun and ball games, including a volleyball pitch, and plenty to keep the you entertained indoors, with a pool table, table football, lots of books and a bountiful box of board games!
Friday
PM: Arrive at the eco lodge from 17:00, stretch your legs with a short walk down through the woods to Abermawr, our secluded local beach, and breathe the fresh sea air. Return and settle into our cosy lodge with a welcoming evening meal at 19:30 and relax, ready for tomorrow’s adventure.
Saturday
AM: After a full Welsh breakfast, head off to a wild North Pembrokeshire location for your first choice of adventure. We like to kick things off with some coasteering, a unique activity traversing the intertidal zone of the rocky coastline where the land meets the sea. Swim, scramble, climb and leap, encountering rushing gullies, whirling plunge pools and spurting blow-holes!
PM: Warm up back at the lodge with some cawl (a Welsh soup) and warm crusty bread before heading out to explore another stretch of coastline for your second choice of adventure. Perhaps you’ll try sea kayaking this time, paddling under immense sea cliffs and gazing into the aquatic world beneath you, encountering an abundance of unspoilt coastal scenery and wildlife. The evening is yours to gather round a bonfire for some stargazing and perhaps a well-deserved Pembrokeshire beer or cider from the lodge bar.
Sunday
AM: After breakfast, we’ll drop you off on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for a hike back to the lodge. From this gently meandering well-traversed trail, swathed in sea campion, yellow gorse and pink thrift flowers, you can spot inquisitive grey seals lazing on the rocky shoreline, pods of harbour porpoise and Atlantic sea birds fishing, fulmars gliding and kittiwakes nesting. Mull over mesmerising rock pools in secret coves where ruby-red beadlet anemones sway, blennies dart between pebbles and winkle shells shimmer in the sun. Comb the tideline for a mermaid’s purse or sea-smoothed pottery amongst the driftwood.
PM: If you’re here for the 2-day weekend, we’ll wave you off after a hot lunch back at the lodge. Or if you’re staying for the 3-day weekend, it’s time for your third activity – get ready to practice your paddle and pop on an epic surfing adventure! Frolic and play in the frothy white water or hone your technique with expert guidance. With some of the best sand-bottom beach breaks in Wales, crystal clear waters and clean summer swells, you’ll be riding waves in no time.
Monday
AM: If you’re staying for the 3-night weekend, we’ll wave you off after a hearty breakfast. After leaving us, you might like to try an activity with a local provider such as a boat trip around RSPB Ramsey Island, horse riding at the foothills of the Preselis and through the Gwaun Valley, paddle boarding from the picturesque Solva harbour or kite-land-boarding on the expansive Newgale Sands. We can help you book this extra activity, just ask!

*Itineraries will vary weekend to weekend. You can let us know your ideal activity choices when you book, which we’ll do our best to fulfil, but ultimately, we adventurers are governed by the the tides, swell and wind. We draw on years of local knowledge and experience of surfing, kayaking and coasteering to pick the BEST activites for you to do according to the tides and conditions on the day. There is also an element of majority rule, so if you book as a group you will more likely do your first and second choice activity. And sometimes an element of first-come-first-serve, so book early and we’ll more likely deliver your ideal combo! But whatever the weather, whichever the activity, we know you’ll have an awesome time.
