Experience Pembrokeshire’s spectacular coastal landscape on our no-car adventure itinerary, making use of public transport, staying in sustainable self-catering accommodation just a short walk from the beach and taking part in responsibly-led activities.
Exploring without a car in the most rural parts of Wales may seem like an unobtainable dream. But we’ve carefully curated every little detail to make your car-free holiday flow seamlessly from start to finish. Throughout the week, you’ll be coasteering, sea kayaking, hiking, surfing, climbing, SUP boarding, and taking a walk through Pembrokeshire’s rich local history.
You’ll arrive by train into the dramatic Fishguard harbour, a short journey away from Preseli Venture, and use the local service buses and coastal shuttle buses to reach your activities throughout the week. Staying just a short walk from Abermawr beach and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, you’re also perfectly situated to explore on foot.

Can I reach Pembrokeshire by train? +
Yes! Fishguard & Goodwick train station is only a short journey from Preseli Venture.
You can purchase train tickets online from the TrainLine.
TIP: For 1/3 off the price of tickets for groups of 3+ people, call Llandrindod-Wells ticket office on 01597 822053 and ask for a “Group Save” ticket.

How do i book bus tickets? +
When you arrive, you can buy a “West Wales Rover” ticket from the bus driver, which will give you a pass for the whole week, covering most services in the Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire and Carmarthenshire area. This costs £34/ adult and £16/child.
Can my stay be longer or shorter than 7 nights? +
You’re very welcome to book this holiday for a longer or shorter stay and adjust the itinerary accordingly.
When can I do this holiday? +
Any time! Book your accommodation at Preseli Venture on any dates throughout the year. Our sample itinerary runs from Saturday to Saturday, but yours can start on any day.
There are some seasonal variations to the local bus timetables, but this shouldn’t greatly impact your itinerary as all activities can be reached via the year-round service buses running Monday-Saturday.
Is there a required exerience level or fitness level? +
Our sample itinerary is a fairly high-energy, active holiday which is suitable for most adults and children with a fair level of fitness. The activities are all designed for complete begininers and are taken at a relaxed pace. You can add, omit and adjust activities on this itinerary as much as you need.
Are there any age restrictions? +
Most of the activities listed are suitable for children aged 8 years and above. Some, such as the boat trips, do not have age restrictions. If you have younger children, we’d be happy to suggest some alternatives.

Where will I be based? +
Preseli Venture’s accommodation is based on the North Coast of Pembrokeshire near Mathry, which is roughly half-way between St David’s and Fishguard. It lies in the Abermawr Valley, just a 20-minute walk from Abermawr beach and the coastal path.
