DISCOVERY: These sessions are perfect for complete beginners, families with children aged 8 and above, and anyone who is looking to explore at a slower pace with more time to take in the scenery. EXPLORER: These sessions are best for anyone looking for a faster pace and a bit more adrenaline-fuelled action. Whilst there’s no obligation to do the jumps, there’s more opportunity to participate in more extreme or challenging interactions with the environment. You don’t need to have been coasteering before to join this session, you just need to come with a level of water-confidence, reasonable fitness and adventurous spirit.

What exactly is coasteering? +

Coasteering is a unique coastal adventure activity which developed in Pembrokeshire in the 1980s. You’ll now see it taking place all over the UK, Ireland, Europe and far flung corners of the globe.

It consists of a  concoction of elements including sea swimming, rock climbing, scrambling, bouldering, ledge leaping and interacting with the unique rock features and swell at various points along a route. You may find yourself swimming through sea caves, riding the swell through rushing gullies, scrambling over barnacled rocks and spotting rockpool inhabitants, and leaping into the sea from variable heights.

All this is done in along an A to B route (and back again), traversing the rocky intertidal zone under the cliffs, where the land meets the sea.

Each trip is entirely unique and even if you go to the same place twice, it may look and feel entirely different due to the changing tides and sea conditions.
