A coastal outpost for eco-conscious explorers.

The Eco Barn is a unique and characterful self-catering holiday rental, newly renovated in 2024. Nestled on the gentle slopes of the Abermawr Valley at the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, it is the perfect base for adventurous families and groups.

An unbeatable location.

The barn sits half-way between the bustling harbour & market town of Fishguard and the historic cathedral city of St David’s, and the beach is just a short walk away. It offers unsurpassable panoramic views of the surrounding ancient woodland, stretching to the rocky volcanic outcrop of Garn Fawr and the wild North Pembrokeshire coastline.

Walk to the beach.

Take a peaceful walk through the woodland to Abermawr beach, a secluded sand-and-shingle haven with crystal-clear waters: perfect for swimming, rock-pooling and beach barbeques. From here join the undulating national trail of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which wraps around the entire peninsula and offers extraordinary views and opportunities to watch a remarkable variety of marine wildlife and birdlife.

Beautifully presented interior.

The barn is a wholesome abode characterised by elegant open spaces and off-beat design features. Its tranquil palette is accented by vibrant, uplifting colours. It has a large kitchen-come-dining area with a long table to seat 8 people. The kitchen has a double oven, which makes cooking for 8 people a breeze, and a beautiful stained glass window. The dining area leads into the peaceful rear garden which has two grassy levels.

A magnificent view.

A spiral staircase opens out into a light and spacious open-plan living area featuring floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors wrapping around into corner windows offer breath-taking panoramic views over the wooded valley and coastline beyond. The upper floor of the eco barn is a relaxed, commodious social space for families and groups to spread out or come together with a long dining table for sunset suppers and a large corner sofa where you can curl up by the wood burner in the evening.

Tranquil spaces.

A desk in the peaceful open-plan living space upstairs offers a tranquil office space for remote working. The east-facing round rose window floods the room with morning light with views over the surrounding countryside. At night, the rose window can be playfully lit up with coloured lights. There is a large TV for cosy movie nights and WiFi throughout.

Relaxing nights.

On the ground floor there is a master bedroom with a super king bed which can also become two singles; a double bedroom and two cosy twin rooms. The bedrooms are warmly lit with cosy furnishings and plenty of hanging and storage space for luggage. There are two relaxing bathrooms, one with a large roll-top bath and the other with a roomy walk-in shower and laundry facilities.

“The surrounding area is beautiful, the valley we walked in and the local beach were virtually empty and full of wild flowers and lovely woodland. Thank you for making our stay so special”.
