FAQs
What are the session timings? +
Half day: This is a 3-hour trip. Start times can be flexible. Morning swims are ideal because parking space is more readily available at the beaches.
Full day: This is a 6-hour trip. Sessions run from approximately 10 am to 4pm.
Do I need any experience? +
You don’t need any experience wild swimming or cold water swimming. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, but some level of water confidence is useful.
You will be accompanied by trained safety staff to watch you in the water, guiding you through every step and ensuring you have the right support.
How fit do i need to be for the walking? +
The group will always walk at the speed of the slowest person and allow plenty of rest stops and a chance to take in the beautiful views. The walks to any of our swims are likely to be about 1 mile max and could include some steep hills but plenty of time is allowed for people to go at their own pace.
Are there any age restrictions? +
Most swims are adults only, but we can usually cater for 12-17 year olds on adult swims. Please get in touch to arrange, as some sessions depend on swim ability & confidence.
We can cater for younger children and have lots of beach based activities to suit families with young children.
All ages are welcome, but under 12s must be on a family session. All children must be accompanied by an adult. They will not need to participate, but will need to be on the beach.
Should I wear a wetsuit or bathers? +
Most swims offer a choice between wetsuits and swimwear. Wetsuits provide warmth and buoyancy, but they can feel heavy and restrictive. Swimming in bathers allows full movement and a closer-to- nature experience, yet may lead to a shorter swim due to the cold. Wetsuits are necessary for some swims (longer swim treks, snorkel safaris, Swimfit or lessons). If unsure, feel free to discuss this with the guide beforehand.
What should I wear for yoga? +
Comfortable & loose fitting clothes suitable for the weather. Some people like to wear sports leggings but these may be tricky to get back on after a swim so bear that in mind. A warm hoodie/ jumper is recommended.

Where will it take place? +
The Pembrokeshire coast is home to many marvellous swimming locations. Your venue will depend on what the session includes and the conditions on the day. You will be told by your guide where to meet.
Each venue is chosen specifically to suit the conditions on the day, with shelter available around the peninsula from most wind and swell directions.
You will be sent the address & postcode, a google maps link and directions prior to each session.
Are there any parking charges? +
There are varying car parking charges at different venues, usually no more than £5.
Are mixed ability groups okay? +
These sessions can cater for all abilities, allowing faster swimmers to swim further than slower ones. Everyone can choose their own pace. You may only want to dip instead of swim, which is also fine.
