A walk to Abermawr beach, an undiscovered Pembrokeshire gem

This beautiful Abermawr beach walk comprises a two mile stroll from the Preseli Venture Eco lodge down to the wild and unspoilt Abermawr beach.

This walk takes you through the beautiful bluebell woods of the unspoilt National Trust Abermawr Valley.

One of the best loved of the more remote north Pembrokeshire beaches, you can check out the view of Abermawr at Preseli Venture’s Abermawr beach webcam.

Abermawr’s claim to fame was that it was Brunel’s favoured location for the terminal of his first great western railway line and the west Wales trans-Atlantic port, that was eventually developed at Fishguard instead. The embankments, paths and streams that you encounter along your walk through the woods were constructed in the 19th century as part of the walking paths and horse- riding tracks in the grounds of the manor house and estate of Tregwynt.

To book a stay at the 5 star Preseli Venture eco lodge please call 01348 837709 or email info@preseliventure.co.uk: singles, couples, groups and those walking the coastal path are all very welcome, and there are a variety of different rooms to book as well as meals throughout the day.

For those looking for more adventurous ways of exploring the local coastline – check out the adventure activities that are open to everyone and available at the eco lodge.
