SELF-GUIDED ECO WALKING HOLIDAY
The low-carbon car-free way to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
A No-Car Walking Holiday in Pembrokeshire with Eco-friendly Accommodation.
Take an epic journey on foot from your doorstep. The self-guided walking holiday is the greenest way to experience Pembrokeshire’s wild and remote coastline, making use of public transport and staying in sustainable accommodation just a short walk from the beach.
The scenery along the undulating trail of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is truly cinematic. This rugged coastal landscape is, we feel, unrivalled for its beauty. From neolithic standing stones to volcanic offshore islands, shingle coves with memories of smugglers and pirates to an azure sea-flooded slate quarry. Igneous intrusions form a procession of dramatic rocky outcrops along the Northern coastline; towering sea stacks and natural arches punctuate the dynamic seascape and ancient wooded valleys wind down to sandy beaches.
Swathes of pastel flowers paint the cliffs throughout spring, with splashes of yellow gorse and deep purple heather in the summer, whilst the blackberries and warm-ochre bracken abound in autumn. The sheer abundance and diversity of wildlife is astonishing. Expect to see plunging gannets, diving peregrines, statuesque cormorants, acrobatic coughs and fluttering stone chats. Bring binoculars and spot porpoises and dolphins. Pembrokeshire’s offshore islands and remote beaches provide a perfect habitat for Atlantic grey seals (visit in autumn for pupping season).
